Our Team

A brother-sister duo driven by a shared passion for art, heritage, and timeless craftsmanship.
Des is an artist based in Auckland who has always enjoyed telling a story through his work. His exceptional talent brings life to each piece he creates, with his artwork previously being commissioned and gifted to close friends and family.
Anna oversees operations and sales after convincing Des it was time to get his creations out into the world and into art lovers' homes — and beyond.

Our Roots & Inspiration

Our inspiration stems from our deep family ties to the Far North of New Zealand, a region rich in natural beauty and cultural history.
We've always felt a profound connection to our heritage, and this connection is at the heart of everything we do.

Our grandfather, Ally Andrewes, was a farmer with a number 8 wire mentality — creating everything from paua wall art and kete (woven flax bags) to hand-carved wooden pieces.
We proudly carry on his legacy, infusing his spirit of creativity, resourcefulness, and love for natural materials into every Artisan Ave creation.

Our Craft

We are particularly drawn to using New Zealand native timber and natural resources in our work — from hand-carved artwork to thoughtfully crafted products for the home.
This choice is not only a homage to our roots, but a commitment to sustainability, quality, and honoring the natural stories that live in wood, stone, and fibre.
